Plane wave diffraction on a layer of asymmetric hyperbolic metamaterial

چکیده
We consider the diffraction of a plane wave on layer symmetric hyperbolic metamaterial made metal and SiO 2 layers. It is shown that reflection coefficient depends not only angle incidence, but also direction incidence relative to anisotropy axis. In an arbitrary fall, plate asymmetric creates scattered waves both polarizations. Keywords: metamaterial, diffraction, effective permittivity tensor, homogenization.

Plane Wave Propagation Through a Planer Slab
An approximation technique is considered for computing transmission and reflection coefficients for propagation of an elastic pulse through a planar slab of finite width. The propagation of elastic pulse through a planar slab is derived from first principles using straightforward time-dependent method. The paper ends with calculations of enhancement factor for the elastic plane wave and it is s...
متن کاملBroadband Acoustic Hyperbolic Metamaterial.
In this Letter, we report on the design and experimental characterization of a broadband acoustic hyperbolic metamaterial. The proposed metamaterial consists of multiple arrays of clamped thin plates facing the y direction and is shown to yield opposite signs of effective density in the x and y directions below a certain cutoff frequency, therefore, yielding a hyperbolic dispersion. Partial foc...

متن کاملThe Uniform geometrical Theory of Diffraction for elastodynamics: Plane wave scattering from a half-plane.
Diffraction phenomena studied in electromagnetism, acoustics, and elastodynamics are often modeled using integrals, such as the well-known Sommerfeld integral. The far field asymptotic evaluation of such integrals obtained using the method of steepest descent leads to the classical Geometrical Theory of Diffraction (GTD). It is well known that the method of steepest descent is inapplicable when...
